Patients of all ages come to Arkansas Dentistry & Braces to get amazing smiles! Patients at Arkansas Dentistry and Braces are treated with Invisalign, Clear Braces or Metal Braces. Orthodontic treatment falls into the following categories:
It’s best for an orthodontist to see children by age seven to advise if orthodontic treatment is required and the best time for that patient to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and crossbites, crowding and other problems can be evaluated.
When treatment begins early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems.
Don’t worry! There are plenty of older teens and adults that undergo orthodontic treatment! Age seven is simply the best time for an initial screening.
The new techniques and appliances we use greatly reduce discomfort levels, decrease the frequency of visits, shorten treatment time and may allow you to choose from several options. Your options may include metal braces, translucent braces or transparent aligners that can be worn to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.
